As we look back across a timeline littered with ups, downs, unknowns and tragedies, it only seems right to highlight the one positive thing that the COVID pandemic has brought our collective industry.
And that surely must be the exponential global adoption of video collaboration and audio visual technologies and the profoundly positive impact it has had on our lifestyles, from the way we socialise to the way we shop and most importantly on the way we work and do business. This applies equally to all sectors from corporate giants through education, legal and healthcare, down to small independents and across to conferences and live events.
The new vaccines may help us to eventually eradicate the virus, but technology has, without doubt, allowed us to work around it and the legacy of this year is that the AV industry definitely found its moment to shine.
Through partnerships, out-of-the-box thinking, experience and agility we have all managed to turn the tide against the effects of the pandemic in our respective organisations and there is still a huge journey ahead, because without doubt, like our lives, AV will never be the same.
2021 will be another challenging and transformational year we predict, one which hopefully will continue to elevate the professional respect and dependence on the innovative and inventive endeavours of the people within our industry.
For now, this is the time to step back, take stock, relax in the company of those dear to us where we can and recharge, ready to embrace the new challenges and opportunities that the New Year will bring.
Merry Christmas!
